Jared Land is a lighting designer based out of the southern Minnesota area. In addition to designing plays, musicals, and dance nationally Jared is an Associate Professor of Practice with Gustavus Adolphus College where he teaches courses in lighting and sound design & technology at GAC’s Department of Theatre Arts and Dance. He serves as the resident lighting and sound designer for their season. Before Gustavus he taught for 16 years with the University of Texas at Arlington and served as their Theatre and Dance Department's resident lighting and sound designer. Jared received his MFA in Theatrical Design, with emphasis in lighting design, from the University of Memphis. His work has been featured throughout the Dallas Fort Worth area, including: StageWest Theatre, Shakespeare Dallas, WaterTower Theatre, Theatre Three, and as a guest artist with UNT. Outside of Dallas Jared’s work has been featured with numerous companies, including: Voices of the South, PCPA Theatre, Theatre Memphis, Galveston Summer Musicals, Project Motion and as a contributor for the book World Scenography Volume 2.
